SPEECH 101
MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE SPEECH
Assignment: You are to present a speech that reflects a ‘memorable experience’ you have had and why that experience is significant. You will be the judge of what is interesting enough to present to the class. It is a good idea to choose an experience that you learned something from or was significant in some way.
Purpose: To inform the audience with something you have personally experienced.
Length: Three (3) minutes minimum.
Six (6) minutes maximum.
Grading: Speeches will be graded based on following the guidelines and incorporating the elements of a successful speech as written in the syllabus.
Guidelines: A complete sentence outline is due for this speech.
Be sure you have a strong introduction (STAMP) and a memorable conclusion.
Be sure that the ‘experience’ you choose is something that you can discuss while maintaining composure.
While this speech may appear to be “just telling a story,” you need to organize it into a speech that the audience can follow. One way you can do this is by having an introduction first (obviously), describing your ‘experience’ next, telling the audience the two things you learned from your experience next, and finally ending with your conclusion.
i want a speech about when i was in fifth grade and my father taught me the value of money since i was being taught about money then. the life lesson is that everyone has a job or will have a job in the life and its never to late or to soon to start saving money. Using the 50/30/20 rule should be incorporated in there some how.
