To write this essay take the text from Genesis about the story of Adam and Eve and apply theories from existentialism and post-Freudian psychoanalysis in order to create a cohesive, interpretation! of the story. Attached to my profile is the text (the story) you need, but you are free to use any alternate translation of the Bible you wish (be sure to specify which version you’re using if you do indeed use a different translation of the story). you are not allowed to use any outsider sources what so ever—any reference (credited or “borrowed”) to a source outside of class will severely penalize the final paper’s grade.
You must use two different sets of the following theories within the paper: Existentialism, Eros and Thanatos, and the Oedipal Conflict. Text explaining these theory’s will be uploaded on my profile. Each set of theory also contains many details within in, though, so you have freedom to apply which parts of each theory you wish to use, so long as you feel confident about their application. For example, existentialism includes many separate ideas regarding choice, anguish, forlornness, despair, absurdity, and responsibility. You can pick and choose which of those ideas you wish to cover, just so long as existentialism is represented (you may choose to apply, for instance, only freedom, choice, and despair, for example, and leave out the others).
