SOCIAL AND POLITICAL INSTABILITY: THE GUERRILLAS’ IMPACT IN PRESENT-DAY NICARAGUA AND EL SALVADOR
INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Argument: The first page should have the paper’s subject, argument, and case studies. An example of an opening paragraph is: “This paper argues that judges play critical but under analyzed roles in Latin America’s democracy by providing a stable means of opposition, rights protection, regime transition, and control over executive power. The cases will be Guatemala, where the judges have brought a former ruler to trial, and Chile, where judges steered democratization through the outgoing dictator’s obstacles.”

2. Analysis: In developing your analysis, make sure to separate out relevant and reliable material from the mass of available information; that will help each discussion point to support the main argument.

3. References: All quotes, statistics, and other references to outside sources must include two citations: in the text (Author, page) and in the bibliography.

My main argument is: “Why is it that after a period of civil war El Salvador has been able to develop a healthy democratic system whilst Nicaragua has been dominated by one party?”

I want to compare and contrast both paths these countries followed and why it happened that way.

I have already written a short intro and historical background. I need the continuation to this and comparison between today’s political systems in both countries.
