Personal Reflection and Business Performance

Introduction
During the initial stages of this group project, I learned varied skills and gained immense knowledge. The chance of making a venture with a group gave me a big opportunity to understand the concepts of how a business can be started. The whole process was a great learning experience and I learned that working in group is difficult but if carried out properly, it is very effective and efficient at the same time.

Outcome
This activity improved my team-building skills and taught me to carry out division of roles based on individual personalities. This was carried out with the aid of Belbin test (Chiriac, 2014). Belbin test indicated my role as resource investigator. This activity is of utmost value to me as I was never aware of my personal strengths. Since the team consisted of six members, all six members were designated responsibilities as per their professional strengths (Saaty, 2008). My role was of a resource investigator and I had to do enough market research to gain an insight for spending budget and for producing information vital for making strategic business decisions.
The underlying assumption is that by selling candles for Christmas and Valentine’s Day. However, the initial idea was to sell homemade cupcakes and milkshakes but due to rejection from the Union the product was changed. I was responsible for doing all the research that has been included in the poster. Union rejected the product on the basis of “homemade” products that could lead to health and safety issues. The CEO did the other poster for new ideas which I really appreciated as it was my job and I am working in the marketing department.
Group Work
All the work I did for sales and marketing was accepted by my team members, as attracting the customers was accomplished by the customer satisfaction strategy that was developed with a survey that was circulated in the market (Brandstätter, Davis, & Stocker-Kreichgauer, 1982). It was complete team effort as all the members of the team made an equal contribution in achieving the goals of this group campaign.
One of the group members ordered all the material required for the candles like wax, glass pots etc. Based on my previous knowledge, I suggested my group members to set a certain budget for marketing activities, which can be done through social website and local newspapers that tends to be the most effective for attracting the customers.
At each stage, I was self-evaluating my role in conjunction with my team members to acquire a focused approach to devise a feasible and effective strategy (Saaty,2008). Furthermore, I was also seeking the group members for their input as a necessary means to set my research and contribution (Bolton, 2010). Although, my role was related to manage the sales and marketing activities of the project, however the input from other members working on other areas, has immensely aided my decision-making.

Future Improvement of our Business Performance
This activity will help us to successfully market our goods and avoid competition from other businesses that produces similar goods such as ours. We will make sure that the customers are always satisfied by our products and services. In future, we have a plan to create a forum with which we can obtain feedback from the buyers. This will help us to know how the customers perceptions about our products. In these forums, we will be able to obtain a feedback that will be of great help for us to improve the good o
