Read Frankenstein, Volume 2: Chapters I-IX (pp. 93-151) and Volume 3: Chapters I-VII (pp. 155-225).

Although Frankenstein was written almost 200 years ago, it presents themes (and characters) that are not only still popular, but still relevant. In fact, we might even argue that Shelley’s novel is more relevant than ever, especially given recent scientific advancements that seem to parallel Victor Frankenstein’s controversial experiment and push the limits of science.

For Think piece 2 you will investigate one of the following modern studies and relate the project to Frankenstein:

Human Genome Project: an international effort to decode genetic information in human DNA.

Visible Human Project: study of an actual human cadaver sliced into razor thin sections for the purpose of scientific study.

Dolly the Sheep: the world’s first successful living clone.

Another project: Is there an experiment, project, or study in your field that would be relevant to this Think piece?

For this Think piece, you will need to find some outside sources about the modern study you choose to investigate and relate to Frankenstein. Please include a list of Works Cited in the MLA style (find out more here) and correctly cite each quotation, using the MLA in-text citation style.
