At the end of the lesson the student will be able to:
1. Write a brief summary of the American Civil War.
2. Make oral presentations about the American Civil War in a chronological and coherent manner.
3. Read and interpret maps and pictures depicting the American Civil War.

Learners have encountered content about the American Civil War from watching various movies and reading novels about the civil war. The students understand that the civil war changed the course of the United States’ future. However, the students had some misconceptions about the belligerents in the civil war, its causes, consequences, and impact on the American society.
The topic of the American Civil War was handled in three lessons that included
