Introduction
Use the course materials and outside research that you have discovered through the suggested list of readings and to prepare for a discussion regarding assessing civil commitment of individuals.
Initial Post Instructions
For your initial post, select an assessment instrument that would assist in the determination of whether commitment is necessary and further discuss information about the assessment. Be sure to include the reliability and validity information and in what populations and settings the instrument has been used. Based on all that you have learned in this course on psychological assessments, depict the strong points for this type of assessment and also discuss the points of weakness.

Initial Post Instructions
In your initial post, present and discuss a synopsis of a middle-aged adult with whom you are familiar (do not name). In your presentation, you will want to touch upon points of changes or lack thereof, pointing out the life activities and work this particular person has been doing during this phase of life. Concentrate your discussion around the specifics on any movements they have made toward generativity or toward stagnation. You can mention activities that might serve as evidence for a mid-life crisis or the lack thereof. Discuss what assessments could be used to measure these experiences.
