1. Religion represents a main line of inquiry that we have pursued so far. Early religious texts abound in our sources, all predicated on the notion of correct behavior and attitudes toward the supernatural. Consider the different forms of religious actions described in our texts, from beliefs to specific rituals. Give examples of three different religious traditions and the ritual behaviors associated with each. Compare and contrast these different forms of ancient religion.

2. Law, the abstract notions of how humans should behave towards each other, has been another central theme in this course. Our sources contain multiple examples of legal codes and specific decrees meant to influence human action, but the different cultures that produced these documents conceived of law in different ways. Write an essay in which you contrast the legal thought (even if this is found in religious texts) of three different civilizations, considering explicitly how they contrast with one another.
