It is based on music from the time period covered in Gioia-History Chapters 7-10 (The Fragmentation of Jazz Styles; Freedom and Fusion; Traditionalists and Postmodernists; Jazz in the New Millennium). It must have academic argument to analyze (objectively) and interpret (subjectively) at least three exhibits, with the help of at least three argument sources .
